10TH ANNUAL PORT TOWNSEND FILM FESTIVAL

CALL FOR ENTRIES
The 10th annual Port Townsend Film Festival (PTFF) will be held September 24-27, 2009.
PTFF is a participating Festival of the online submissions service WithoutABox and entries must be submitted through WithoutABox at www.WithoutABox.com.
The service is free (you still have to pay the entry fee); if you are a member of WithoutABox, you will receive a $5.00 discount on the entry fee. Please submit here once you've read the Submission Rules below and are ready.
DEADLINES & FEES
- Early Deadline. January 31 -- $20.00 for features, $10.00 for shorts and short features. Entries postmarked after February 15, 2008 will be charged the Regular Entry Fee.
- Regular Deadline. February 28 -- $30.00 for features, $20.00 for shorts and short features. Entries postmarked after March 15, 2008 will be charged the Late Entry Fee.
- Late Deadline. March 15 -- $40.00 for features, $30.00 for shorts and short features. Entries Postmarked after March 30, 2008 will be charged the Absolute Final Deadline Fee.
- Absolute Final Deadline. April 15 -- $50 for features, $40 for shorts and short features. Under only rare circumstances will films be accepted after March 31.
SCIENCE FICTION + FANTASY SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2010
CALL FOR ENTRIES!
The festival will accept animated or live-action submissions in science fiction (examples: futuristic stories, space adventure, technological speculation, social experiments, utopia and dystopia) and fantasy (examples: sword and sorcery, folklore, urban fantasy, magic, mythic adventure). The festival welcomes submissions that step outside the boundaries of reality and inspire a sense of wonder. The festival will not accept horror submissions. Submissions are accepted through Withoutabox.
JURY: A nationally recognized panel of distinguished film, television, literature, and science fiction industry professionals, peers, and film critics will review qualifying submissions. A jury, which includes science fiction notables and award-winning film professionals, will view the top selected films in competition during the festival to determine the winners. The 2010 Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival will be judged by a national jury of esteemed film industry professionals including Jesse Harris, Susan LaSalle, Howard McCain, Daniel Myrick, and Marc Scott Zicree, and more jury members to be announced. The chosen entries will be screened in competition during the festival, which will take place on January 30, 2010, at the Cinerama Theatre in Seattle.
MISSION & OBJECTIVE: The Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival promotes and encourages an awareness, appreciation and understanding of the art of science fiction and fantasy cinema. Its mandate is to create a forum for creative artistry in science fiction and fantasy film and recognize the most outstanding short films produced.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL: The Fifth Annual Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival, to be presented in Seattle, Wash. on January 30 2010, brings together industry professionals in both filmmaking and the genre of science fiction and fantasy to encourage and support new, creative additions to science fiction and fantasy cinema arts. The film festival is co-sponsored by Experience Music Project|Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame (EMP|SFM) and the Seattle International Film Festival Group (SIFF).
