WIF/S members volunteer to
produce one PSA a year for a charitable organization selected
by review and consensus. This is a great way for members
to gain production experience and share their talents
with a deserving organization.
PSA for the Moyer Foundation
WIF/Seattle has chosen The Moyer Foundation as the focus of our Public Service Announcement created by Women in Film/Seattle members in January 2008. The production of the PSA will provide an awareness PSA for the locally grown Foundation which funds other non-profits and whose work is national. The production of the PSA will provide professional experience for its members as well.
Rebecca Van Pelt of WIF/S was the Production Chair, Virginia Bogert, directed the PSA for Moyer Foundation and Camp Erin which won a Telly Award in 2009. Women in Film is temporarily discontinuing the PSA Program; resources will be directed toward other WIF programs.

Women in Film/Seattle produces PSA for The Moyer Foundation at Pravda Studios
Women in Film/Seattle produced PSAs for the Moyer Foundation, a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide encouragement, comfort, and support for children in emotional, physical or financial distress. The PSA focused on Camp Erin, a grief camp designed for children ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of a parent, friend or loved one and seven courageous children who shared their stories.

Letter to WIF/S from the Foundation:
I just want to thank you all again for giving up your Sunday and donating your time to the Moyer Foundation. We truly appreciate your great attitude, professionalism and big hearts. I'm so excited to see the finished product and know it will help us immensely in spreading awareness to families in need of these bereavement services. I wanted to share with you a part of the email I received from Riley Shelley's mom yesterday:
“Riley said today was the best day of her life! She loved being there, getting all dolled up, talking about Camp Erin and her dad. As sad as her loss has been, I am SO grateful that she has been involved with the foundation, because it has brought something special to her life. She just loves the whole idea of Camp Erin and what it gives to kids. She knows she may not end up on the final cut, but she said it would still be worth it, just being there, and being able to experience what she did. Please thank everyone involved for making her feel great.
Thank you for inviting her. She had a ball.”
